What move cleaning covers

A move clean is measured against a different standard than a normal clean. A landlord walking a unit at a lease end is not looking at the room, they are opening the cabinet under the sink, pulling the crisper drawer out of the refrigerator and running a finger along the closet shelf. Because the property is empty, the sequence changes. There is nothing to work around, so the visit runs top to bottom through the whole property at once: fixtures and fans, then trim and frames, then cabinet and closet interiors, then appliances, then floors on the way out. Timing is the constraint that causes the most trouble. A move clean has to happen after the last item leaves and before the walkthrough, which is often a narrow window on a day when everything else is also happening. For a move in, the reasoning is different and the work is the same. You are cleaning a property other people lived in, before your things go into it. That is the only day the cabinets will be empty and the closets reachable, so it is the right day to do it.
