Move In and Move Out Cleaning in Georgia

Move cleaning is done on an empty property, which changes the job completely. With the furniture out, every cabinet interior, closet shelf, drawer and appliance cavity is reachable and all of them are expected to be clean at handover.

Scope

What it covers

Best forRenters at a lease end, landlords turning a unit and buyers or sellers working to a closing date.

What move cleaning covers

A move clean is measured against a different standard than a normal clean. A landlord walking a unit at a lease end is not looking at the room, they are opening the cabinet under the sink, pulling the crisper drawer out of the refrigerator and running a finger along the closet shelf. Those are the places the work goes.

Because the property is empty, the sequence changes. There is nothing to work around, so the visit runs top to bottom through the whole property at once: fixtures and fans, then trim and frames, then cabinet and closet interiors, then appliances, then floors on the way out. Nothing has to be moved twice.

Timing is the constraint that causes the most trouble. A move clean has to happen after the last item leaves and before the walkthrough, which is often a narrow window on a day when everything else is also happening. Tell us the handover date when you request the quote rather than after, because the date decides whether we can take the job at all.

For a move in, the reasoning is different and the work is the same. You are cleaning a property other people lived in, before your things go into it. That is the only day the cabinets will be empty and the closets reachable, so it is the right day to do it.

Process

How the visit works

  1. Confirm the date and access

We book against your handover date and confirm how we get in, whether that is a key, a lockbox or a building code.

  2. Top down through the property

Fixtures, fans, vents, trim and frames are cleaned first, working room by room through the whole property.

  3. Cabinets, closets and appliances

Every cabinet interior, drawer, closet shelf and appliance cavity is cleared of debris, washed and dried.

  4. Floors and walkthrough

Floors are vacuumed, mopped and edged last. We check every room against the list before locking up.

Before we arrive

How to prepare

  • Have the property completely empty, including the garage and closets
  • Remove trash and anything left for disposal before we arrive
  • Confirm utilities are on, since the job needs water, power and light
  • Tell us the handover or walkthrough time so we can work backward from it
  • Send any inspection checklist the landlord or agent gave you

If the property is still furnished and you are staying in it, deep cleaning is the equivalent service for an occupied home. If you are moving into a property and want it held at that level afterward, recurring cleaning starts once you are in.

Move cleaning is the service we are asked for most often in rental heavy areas. Apartments in Duluth along the Pleasant Hill corridor, townhomes in Johns Creek and intown units in Atlanta all turn over on tight schedules where the cleaning window is a single afternoon.

Questions

Move In & Out questions

When should a move out clean be scheduled?
After the last item is out of the property and before the landlord or agent walkthrough. If the two fall on the same day, tell us the walkthrough time when you book so we can work backward from it.
Does the property need to be completely empty?
Yes. Cabinets, closets and appliances cannot be cleaned around belongings and those are the places an inspection looks first. If items are still in the property when we arrive, the work we can do is limited.
Do you take away trash and leftover furniture?
No. Removal and hauling are a separate trade and we are not equipped for it. Clear the property first or book a hauler for the day before the clean.
Will this get a security deposit returned?
Cleaning is one part of what a landlord assesses. Damage, unpaid balances and normal wear are judged separately and no cleaner can make a commitment about a decision a landlord makes. What we can do is clean the property to the standard a walkthrough inspects.
Can you clean a property before the movers arrive?
Yes and for a move in that is the right order. Clean the empty property, then move the furniture in. Doing it the other way costs you the access to cabinets and closets you only get once.
