House cleaning in Atlanta, GA
Atlanta is not one housing market, it is a dozen of them inside the perimeter alone. A 1920s bungalow in Grant Park, a converted warehouse loft on the west side and a high rise unit in Midtown are three different cleaning jobs with three different problems and a cleaner who treats them the same will do at least two of them badly.
We work throughout the city, on single visits and on repeating schedules. The intown housing stock is older than most of the metro, which means original hardwood, plaster in some houses, small tiled bathrooms with unsealed grout and kitchens that were reworked at some point without the floor being replaced. Those details decide which products go on which surface and they are the first thing we look at during a walk through.
Housing here
Much of the intown stock predates 1940, so original wood floors, plaster walls and small unsealed tile bathrooms are common, alongside a large volume of newer condo and loft units.

What the housing here needs
What cleaning an Atlanta home involves
Original hardwood is the first constraint. Intown floors are frequently the boards the house was built with, refinished once or twice and thin at the edges. Standing water opens the seams, so those floors get damp mopped and dried rather than wet mopped and any spill near a radiator or a doorway gets dealt with immediately rather than at the end.
The second is bathrooms. Small older bathrooms in bungalows and four squares were built with hexagonal or subway tile and a grout that has usually never been sealed. It holds soap film and, in a house with a single window and no exhaust fan, it holds mildew through the summer. Grout in these homes is brush work, not mop work and it is the reason a first visit in an intown house often runs as a deep clean.
Condos and lofts have the opposite problem. Concrete floors, exposed duct and open shelving mean dust settles visibly and there is nowhere for it to hide. Interior corridors and shared elevators also mean loading in equipment takes planning, so we confirm loading dock access, elevator reservation rules and any building sign in process before the first visit rather than on the day.
Then there is the pollen. Atlanta sits in one of the heaviest pine and oak pollen bands in the country and from late February into May a yellow film gets onto every sill, every entry floor and every surface within reach of an open window. During those months entry mats, sills, window ledges and the first ten feet of flooring inside each exterior door take extra time on every visit and homes with porches see it worst.
Parking is a practical issue rather than a cleaning one and it still affects the visit. Streets in Inman Park, Virginia Highland and Old Fourth Ward have permit zones and narrow shoulders. Tell us where a vehicle can sit for the length of the visit when you book, because a cleaner circling the block is not cleaning your house.
